It’s Friday! Yeah!
I love Fridays, not just because the weekend is almost here and I get to catch my breath, but mostly because I get to hang out with Marcy Wheeler of emptywheel.net for an hour (and then some) to recap and attempt to explain/understand what happened this week.
And, as usual since January 20, this was another doozy of a week. It really got going with a national (actually global) embarrassment incited by the man who would be dicktator and his Secretary of War (sic) speaking to a mandatory meeting of 800 of the US Military’s TOP Generals and Admirals. Trumpkin then rambled on for 72 minutes(!) boring and infuriating these highest-ranking military officers in the land as only a fat, bloviating draft-dodger could.
Although no one was told the subject of this emergency, unprecedented meeting, I guess it was so Whisky Pete and Mango-Pumpkin Mussolini could flex their manliness and lay down their law on what our military would become as they take us further and further down their authoritarian rabbit hole (or should I say shithole?).
From that military madness meeting to a government shutdown and reams of strange behavior from the fat, unfit-for-duty commander-in-chief further proved how unfit he is for his office and so much more in-between, Marcy and I had more than enough to talk about. And we did....
No News Notes today as I’m exhausted, and I have a weekend of packing as I prepare to move again soon….
